The Adventure
So the adventure began on friday after work, well shortly before i knocked off i received a present from the 3 babes in the office. A beading book and a handmade card. Jon picked me up in the rented Swift and we zipped off to Mad Jack's for dinner. The food is not as fantastic as everyone claims, i was expecting better fish and chips than that, the Grill restaurant on the top floor of Tiong Bahru plaza does fish n chips way better than that, and if u're a student it's only $4.90. A bloody steal it is. But well now we know. Headed down to Vivocity explored it for a while and got rather bored, frankly there's nothing much to see. Gap was disappointing as well, then again their website didn't have much products that appealed to me anyway, 'cept for a lovely jacket. Then we caught Scoop which was a nice funny show, Woody Allen was fab in it and the eye candies Hugh Jackman & Scarlett Johansson didn't hurt either. Got home and there's what the surprise really was in store, as i turned on the lights i could make out this vague huge sillhouette, which i nearly thought was a monster, but was actually a huge bunch of balloons. The presents and cards were neatly arranged below. Got a N73 from my sweetheart, bless his soul i really do and i say it from the bottom of my heart. I was rather frustrated earlier in the evening when we were at the starhub shop where i was looking for a hp in the hopes of asking my parents to buy it to me today. But he only criticised the K800i but never gave me a constructive idea, when he is an expert in mobile phones. But therein lies the surprise. And of course there was the cake from Bakerz Inn, which i already had an inkling coz he probed too much about the Bakerz Inn cake that Elaine & the babes got me the day before.
Saturday i was dropped off for a 2hr scrub, steam, massage session afterwhich we caught another movie The Departed. I don't think i can ever sit through any movie that i already know the storyline, or maybe Martin Scorsese wasn't that brilliant in this movie, I dunno. Well then we had dinner at Saint Julien Le Restaurant, a French restaurant, and a really really good experience of French cuisine. Tried lots of new and interesting food which will leave my tastebuds hankering for more of that high class stuff, e.g. foie gras, avruga caviar, hokkaido scallops, wagyu beef, truffles, soumaintrain (yummy cheese). Then we headed off to my twin's house to wish him happy birthday.
Of course I had fun on thursday on my graduation, with the babes and today. It's been a really fun week, quite a way to start on my short holiday before school starts. It can get addictive.
But of course with all the ups comes a down to bring me back to earth, my HDD is now unreadable so i'll have to do an emergency resuscitation tomorrow with a neceessary trip to SLS. But i shan't complain it's been ticking away for quite some time i just didn't really know what to do and didn't really wanna spend the time and effort to get it sorted. Bet if i didn't have such a great weekend i wouldn't be talking about it in such a nonchalent manner, but screeching vulgarities at the top of my voice.
