Crimes of the different sort

Was reading the paper earlier about Mathilda Chua famous from the NKF saga who is facing another civil case. Frankly speaking if you ask me, as an employer I would most likely hire someone who's committed what I term blue collar crimes. Shoplifting, burglary, rape, etc. I know very stereotypical but, I feel that it's easier to see whether they have repented and changed as compared to someone who commits fraud and signs company cheques to their own accounts. I suppose the difference is that they committed it against their own company, whereas the "blue collar crimes" were directed others. Frankly I feel, these people are pretty dumb, as I don't think I'm the only one with such an inclination. It would take a lot for an employer to take that leap of trust and give you a position. So you're pretty much screwed for life. Especially since most of them commit the crime in their middle age, around 30+, go to jail and serve for 2-3 years. So by the time you get out of jail, you're in your late 30s if you're lucky, otherwise in your 40s. Woohoo, prime time to get a job. Wonderful. Alternatively you can consider a career switch and lie to get your new job. Well moral of the story, if you wanna do something like that, don't get caught, otherwise don't do it at all.

I've stopped musing about socio-political stuff for a while. Been busy. Yes and the long awaited Tokyo post. Bleah. I'll go work on it or smtg.
