300

Caught the film the other day and boy was it good. Graphically, action-wise, storyline too (although critiques on storyline isn't my forte). But guess what some Iranians had to say, "'The film depicts Iranians as demons, without culture, feeling or humanity, who think of nothing except attacking other nations and killing people,' Ayende-No said in its article Tuesday." excerpt from an article on the msnbc. Sometimes I think they're reading into it too much, or maybe it's just that we're not the target of the "atrocity". I don't remember a backlash on Khazakstan over Borat. Plus it was essentially based on a comic, which has been widely publicised to be not entirely accurate. In fact I think the movie has spawned more articles and interest in Greek & Persia lore than the US vs Iran war has. I know you love your history and heritage very much, but I think we've got to come to realise movies are simply movies, which are purely for entertainment. By getting yourself riled up over the movie and reading too much into it doesn't make you any happier nor less oppressed. Plus it is in the past, way over 2000 over years, so why the hooha, unless you're guilty about attacking other nations and killing people.

Sometimes it's just a matter of laughing off some things that come your way and accepting that really no one's making a joke out of you except yourself.
