Christmas KL Trip
Yup a verbose post to end the year and also to remind ourselves that there can be fun in everything you do. Just that you have to open your eyes to see it.
Day 1 - 23rd DecWe took a coach with Five Stars, like what they claim they are the five star equivalent of hotels in the coach service industry. Super spacious seats, you can adjust your foot rest, your back seat to recline totally (no more neckaches from sleeping in an uncomfortable position) and leg rest. Then there's also a movie and games console for each seat. No worrying that when you lean back you'll encroach into someone elses space because there's sorta like a cubicle thing that ensures that doesn't happen. I'm in awe. I know a lot of people have taken the coach to KL but it's my first time so let me have my suaku moments ok. But very very comfortable. When we got there, went to the hotel and then come out again to head for Petaling Street, the night markets. Had dinner at Nandos, where the chicken was so amazingly tender. The menu is rather similar to Kenny Rogers to a certain extent with the 1/4 or 1/2 chicken and two side dishes. But the chicken would beat Kenny Rogers hands down.
Wanted to buy some bead stuff at Petaling Street but most of the shops were wholesalers and you need to purchase a minimum of 200 pieces of one design. Madness!! But I did manage to get some beads. Then walked around Petaling Street the night bazaar, and shopped quite a fair bit. I take back the part in my previous post about mindless shopping. It is rather fun. Bought clothes, imitation Coach bags and wallet and an imitation Patek Philippe watch, which is damn cool.
Day 2 - 24th DecPopped by KLCC in the morning and I managed to find what I did not manage to get in Singapore. A Roxy belt that didn't have my size in sg, was available in all the sizes and in 3 different colours. Super coolness! Add on to the fact was i got a 20% off! Woot! I definitely changed my mind about shopping after getting the belt. I was too happy. Then went to Sungei Wang, their version of Far East Plaza. Then headed back to hotel, gambled a bit and then we headed off to church for Christmas mass. We were too tired to consider Zouk KL after the mass.
Day 3 - 25th Dec Christmas Day!Had brekkie at McDonalds at Puduraya, with lots of cockroaches in the crevices in the wall. Absolutely disgusting. Then took a bus up to Genting, explored the casino. Again my first time, so I was very fascinated by the entire casino experience. Watching how people can just place RM2000 on a single bet. Was a little too chicken to gamble on my own, considering the minimum bet is RM50, so I just input what to bet and then hope to collect money. Lol. A picture of the cafeteria where my brother, mother and i used to wait for our father. Of course the cafeteria has changed a lot, but it's the memories that will remain always.
Then saw this animal display at the cable car station, can't exactly remember the title of it, but we saw lots of animals and fishes and insects, etc. Then dinner at a seafood restaurant near/at Petaling Street.
Day 4 - 26th DecWoke up late then packed coz we had to check out then lunch at Tang Palace, a restaurant in the hotel (Dynasty Hotel) , food was simply fantastic! They don't use trolleys there but let you see what you want on this sampler dish.
Was super full from the lunch we had that I didn't even feel hungry on the journey back to sg. Went to Times Square before heading to the bus terminal for our journey as we had some time in between checking out of the hotel and the time the bus leaves for sg. Times Square is really huge but there are so many shops which are not occupied. Quite sad. But oh well. Bought two tops from Mango and a shirt from Dickies. Then we had yummy yummy Toffee Nut Frappucino from Starbucks, Venti was going for RM15. Freaking Cheap! When I came back to sg, i was craving one and bought a grande for myself it cost SGD7.40!!! Jon says that's the price of living in singapore. Oh well. Then the coach zoomed back to singapore in about 4.5hrs. Freaking fast, just K.O. all the way back. So shiok. Played a bit of sonic the hedgehog on the coach too. Lol, reliving my childhood days.
Very fun KL trip indeed. Although I have to say the hotel was quite jialat for a 4-star hotel. Shan't waste ur time letting u read my frustrations considering how much you've read about my very enjoyable holiday. Hehe. Got a lovely christmas pressie from Jon and I liked every single item!!
