chicken and egg question
why do singaporeans complain so much? is it that our lives are truly so boring and sheltered that when anything is out of the ordinary and beyond our convenience, we just do the most convenient thing, complain. there are many aspects as to a behavior, most behaviors are definitely multi-faceted, but i think one part of it could be due to us being raised to question beyond what's neccessary. Yes we ask questions, lame stupid questions sometimes, but nevertheless we still probe, but only to satisfy a problem. Usually the questions we ask, are superficial ones. So what we do is solve the problem and move on, except these "solutions" i'd rather call them coverups or pseudo-solutions generally result in more problems in the long run. Sure, no solution is perfect in a real world, and problems always pop up, whether we like it or not. So we are run by many a short-sighted civil servant, who has many others behind him/her to cover up his ass, oooh problem solved, you wish. So problems crop up, people complain. Because we are simply not trained to take the problem into our own hands to solve them. From young, most of us only know that to solve a problem only A is the correct answer, no B no C, no only A is correct and only A will work, because the teacher says so. So every problem we encounter, someone will tell us that only a certain way will work, in other words, someone will tell us the answer(to a certain extent, if you look at it). And because we are trained to accept it, we happily go about complete our tasks and then end of story. Of course most stories don't end like that, and shit usually snowballs, apparently, shit has that kinda effect. So why do we complain again you ask? because, we are simply not brought up to handle things ourselves, handle things efficiently the first time round due to short-sightedness and we are lazy.
