I like my MSN nick: C is for Corvette, CLK, Civics, City Coupe, CC, CCR, Carrera GT, Coupes & Cabriolets. And pretty much in that order maybe the last few can swop a few places ahead Carrera GT first then CCR and CC. went to ikea after brunch didn't buy anything but it was nice, i love the stuff that the place sells, it's basically selling concepts and ideas with the usual stuff that u can get anywhere else. But in ikea the same thing can do 3 other things, now how to beat that? Muji sells sleek and clean lines, IKEA sells concepts, creativity and ideas, barang barang sells i dunno.. haha nah it's coz i haven't been there often enough. When i keep frequenting it n finally get the vibe i'll let u know yah. I should be a marketing student.
Anyway lemme clear up some misconceptions about psychologists from my point of view.
Q: So can you guess what i'm gonna do next? A: We do not attempt to read behaviors of people around us (well at least not all the time) because it's really tiring to observe and second guess why the person is doing why he does. Q: I play aunt agony all the time and i think about what makes people tick, does that make me a psychologist too? A: No, because i fucking have to study for my paper and you didn't. Lol. The truth is psychologists come up with their theories through scientific methods(i can write out an entire chapter of notes on this so if you want u can always ask me about it in detail) so unless it can be proven through scientific methods, you're better off saying that you spend lots of time philosophising and thinking about others behavior. Q: So you're saying we're not different in guessing others behavior and that everyone does it? A: Yeah pretty much, nearly 99.99% of the humans try to think what makes people tick or at least the people around them, even pets included. Q: So any interesting things that you have learnt to share with us? A: Actually nothing much very interesting, lots of stuff are common sense what you and i know. Partially because i'm only at my 2nd module which is titled Intro to Psychology 2. And i believe the stuff that i'm gonna delve further in future may bore u to bits. Q: Then no tit bits to share at all about psychology? I'm sure there's something interesting worth mentioning. A: Efficient metabolic rate actually aids in survival. Essentially an efficient metabolic rate would digest maybe about 90%(rough figures, don't quote me) of what you've eaten and deposit 10% into this fat/energy deposit. "A tendency to be obese is actually of survival value. If a person tends to be obese, he or she may have a more efficient metabolism, which means that they can survive on less food. In times of famine, people with this more efficient metabolism can survive on fewer calories. In most countries, adequate food, much of it high fat, is relatively plentiful for the majority of the population, making a more efficient metabolism a disadvantage contributing to the obese state." taken off Weight.com
This is pretty much the interesting tit bit i have, the rest are major theorists whose theories may leave u with your jaw slack and thinking what the hell the person was thinking or the ingenious of them.
Q: Who's your favourite theorist then?
A: Charles Darwin, for a few reasons. Him being a really humble person for one, his flexibility in realising what was not right and changing his opinions and also he proves that u may not be the first to think of the theory but if u've been more hardworking at collecting evidence to support the theory, you can be great too. [I'm sad to say i've always been a harder worker than a smart worker]
That's all folks for tonight, i've squandered my time meant for studying typing out meaningless stuff like the above. I hope you feel mildly entertained to say the least otherwise i'd b heartbroken. Oh yeah Carly Fiorina has been ousted out of HP, poor woman, she was pretty charismatic, but sometimes charisma may overshadow the lack of talent. Just some quote and quibble to make my blog sound more intellectual. I guess to be at the helm of a Fortune 500 company takes a fair bit of talent, whether u have more or less of it to steer it in the right direction may be a matter of luck, timing and oppoturnities. Just being very optimistic and rambling half nonsense. Time to recover. Zzz
