Infantile, no?

I am a great fan of mrbrown's blog, and yes it being linked under daily addictions is as truthful as the label goes. And author of Singabloodypore said something about the maturity of the blogging community in singapore. I think at the end of the day what the author of SBP wanted to emphasise was the lack of political keen-ness in our local bloggers. Well, considering how apathetic we all are, i'm not surprised, but of course some people took it out of context. Here's mrbrown's call for more mature blogs in response to Steve's lament. But The Singapore Commentator did the best job in interpreting it. But i have to say that if not for mrbrown's blog, i wouldn't really be talking about social issues. Although he takes sartorial digs at the 'gahmen' with our lovely singlish, he does raise awareness in part too.

Of course a variety of blogs on the workings of singapore and the people and the government in a more formal tone may have been preferred by Steve. But i guess, the people here will disappoint him. For one, Law of probability. Most of us don't give a hoot, so fewer bloggers will write stuff in a 'mature' tone for him and others with such a desire. Two, we love slapstick, we love to laugh at ourselves. I think this is more important than the other factors. Consider how stressed we are, it's nice to be able to laugh at ourselves yet find out what's going on around us. Efficienct i say, stress relieving and informative. Three, ok i give up, i can't think of more substantial stuff to say, i can produce more crap, but it wouldn't be mature.
