Ok dudes and dudettes i'm back. yeah apparently i realised that my goodbye note to say that i was leaving for lake toba, medan was not up. No worries i'm back y'all. Coolness. Anyways fantastic holidays, beautiful scenic lake toba, some culture stuff, not very fascinating but still interesting, i mean not to be rude but their culture seems so simplistic, not like the chinese with so much stuff. Maybe our tour guide just gave us bits and pieces of info to keep our mouths shut and stop asking him so many questions. Lol. Went to the hot springs there as well, and talked to some of the locals. Pretty cool stuff too. And on the 2nd last night before we left, yes the quake, everyone knows about the quake. I didn't noe the magnitude when my hotel was shaking though. I mean seriously the hotel was shaking VERY violently. But it's a 2 storey hotel, seemed pretty stable. Well i was asleep when the hotel started shaking, i opened my eyes i was thinking holy shit earthquake, but hmm everything looks ok besides the violent shaking so i wasn't really alarmed. The hotel didn't look like it was gonna start crumbling down on me(then again if it started looking that way i would be pretty much deadmeat). So when the tremors(tremors seem like such a trivialisation of the violent shaking) stopped i thought ok we can go back to sleep now. But nooo 2 seconds later my mum starts knocking frantically on the connecting door(blur woman locked the door, now panicking can't unlock the door) and asks us to open the door. That's when i realise ok maybe it's something that we should panic about, so we all go downstairs to get to safety and my relak jack brother has to spend 2 minutes trying to find his own slippers, and refuse to wear the hotel provided slippers in the room. I seriously wanted to find a wooden plank and swot his head. So after we went downstairs found out everything was ok we can all go back upstairs we went back upstairs to sleep. But the funny part about all this is you should see a glimpse of the thoughts of the people around me.
Dad: sleeping and snoring away until my mum woke him up
Mum: Frantic, panicky woman as usual
Grandmother: Thought my brother was kicking the bed while dreaming, but was a little OTT
Brother: Thought the plane was experiencing turbulence, yes he thought he was sleeping in a plane. By the way we've never travelled business class nor first class before, so i guess it was his dream come true in a sense, til he finally realised what happened.
Me: Earthquake, bed shaking, so we'll stay in bed til it stops. (Otherwise fall down how?)
Yes, entertaining. But more so entertaining when we came back and heard radio reports about how people screamed when the buildings were shaking. No shit, it tickled me no end. Anyway we had a chartered vehicle in medan and the driver only had 4 songs on his casette tape, yeah in bahase indonesia too. So day in day out we listen to the music, and fall asleep to prevent ourselves from puking from motion sickness. Going round the bends at bouna vista will be chicken feed for him. He overtakes other cars like crazy. But thank goodness because of his skills i managed to imitate him and rush to orchard by overtaking many cars last night. If u saw a silver picanto overtaking u last night, it wasn't me. Yeah, i went for the mercedes benz asian fashion awards with philipp and his friends, mariko & miguel. Some thai guy, with bags converting into clothes won the prize and he'll have a year internship with mercedes benz in como, italy. Coolness. But i think he's a gay, but not my problem. And saw the fella who won the manhunt reality tv show thing. Not sure which reality tv show was it. Yeah he was standing like about 5metres away from me. He looked really bored. And when some girls went up to him to take pictures with him, he had such a bored look on his face. Poor fella. I didn't even noe who he was til they pointed it out to me. See don't watch so much tv, and leave people some privacy. Drank a fair bit of bubbly which got me tipsy really fast. But i still managed to drive home and get back safely. =) Forgot to keep the redken hair voucher that everyone had with the programme details and those sitting behind also didn't get goodie bags. Argh!!!! Hahaaha, typical singaporean. I like freebies. Hehe. Anyway not a biggie. Now back to school, missed 2 days of work, which is quite a bit. Considering each lecture covers 2 chapters, so i've missed about 4 chapters for each subject. Gotta get back on pace soon. Alright, tales of my past 4 days ends here.
